Summer Learning Journey

Click on this link to find a list of VC winners. Choose one from the Second World War, and read about him. On your blog tell us about him. Who was he? What did he do to earn a Victoria Cross medal?

Soldier: Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu.
Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa earned his VC because he knocked out heaps of machine gun post's by himself. Even though he had a wounded leg and shoulder He refused to leave the spot he was in. He was killed the next morning fighting off another attack. He was the first Maori soldier to get a VC.
This is the place where he fought
and died fighting off an enemy attack

  1. Hi Bridget

Well done you have chosen a great New Zealander who was very heroic. You have given us the main information about him. However, I think you could give us a little more information. You can find a photo of him to include and maybe even a map of where the fighting took place.
Can you maybe add a little more to this one as well?

I would like you to spend a little more time and not rush through each activity to just get it finished.

You can do this Bridget. You are very enthusiastic and I would like you to do a good job with these activities.

Maybe as a little bit extra you could even draw a medal either of the real one or make up your own.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
