Snow Camp Report
On Monday the 19th of August Te Kinga and Kotuku set off on their journey to Arthurs Pass. When we arrived at Arthurs Pass we had a safety briefing then took our luggage to our rooms. After that Te Kinga went on a walk at Temple Basin but not the mountain just a small walk on the other side of the road. Kotuku went on a mini bird orienteering activity. After we got back we just played games and talked, for dinner we had pizza and for desert we had self saucing chocolate pudding with ice cream. Everyone got up really early on Tuesday the 20th so we had to sit out in the dining room and played games. Since everybody was up early and we didn't have much to do we had some more free time. There was a delay when it was time to leave because the road to Mt Cheeseman was closed. In that time we had a person from DOC come and tell us about what she does. We also did some team activities, then we had some morning tea then it was time to leave. It took a while to get up to the top of Mt Cheeseman where the lodge was but we made it in the end. When we got to Mt Cheeseman some of us went outside in the snow, it was very windy but I made a small igloo/mini cave with Zak & Kaeyln. For dinner we had a mince thing, corn, beans and potatoes. For desert we had a nice apple rhubarb and berry pie it was delicious. The next day Wednesday the 21st was our last day there and that was the skiing day (or playing in snow). I went skiing and it was really fun I had to half teach myself how to ski again but I did pretty well. I went up the T-bar with Tui and it went really well. Then I went up the T-bar with Mary... and we fell off the T-bar. We continued for a couple more hours then it was time to go home. Overall the only part of this camp I enjoyed was skiing and hanging out with friends.

Work Interview Comment
Recently in class we have been interviewing people in the community about their work life. Today we interviewed Zak and Cameron's dad Jarred.
I think it was interesting how Jarred has done lots of volunteer work. I also thought it was interesting how he worked in the air force and how for work experience he blinked a fish eye puppet for a kids T.V show. I thought the story with the pot plant was funny as well. Jarred also mentioned that we should have technology, communication, leadship, and attiude skills for our working life.
