Science roadshow reflection
Today Ruma J went to Greymouth Highschool to see the science road show. We learnt lots of things and we got to explore cool station, look at interesting experiments and there was a mini competition which was to see who could explain something and two people would get their names pulled out and Hamish and some random guy one and they won ultra violet 3D printed fish which in the sun it would turn violet/purple and when it was not fully in the sun it was white. We looked at heaps of sciency things and got to see what a little drop of pond water looked like through one of them microscopes and there were little bits of bacteria swimming round and that was only one drop. We learnt about a physical change and a chemical change we saw the lady do a demenstartion with paper a physical change was she ripped it and it was still the same thing and size and the chemical change was when she burnt it with fire the paper dissolved and so it was a chemical change because there was none of the paper left but she put the fire out with sand. There was a cool experiment when the lady had a tube of something then she got a volentere to put some powder in and it like did a bubbly explosion and it was called elephant toothpaste.I think the experience was good and all but next time I think there was not enough time to see everything.
